HUDSON YARDS: EXHIBITIONS AT THE EDGE

Hudson Yards, Manhatten

Mousetrappe Media was commissioned by The Related Companies to create media for the Edge experience at Hudson Yards–the highest sky deck in the Western Hemisphere. As part of the experience leading up to the deck on the 100th floor, Mousetrappe Media created content for two large-scale digital displays and five mosaic monitor arrays that explores life at Hudson Yards and celebrates the birth of New York City’s newest neighborhood.

When visitors arrive, they are greeted by two massive digital displays of tiled monitors that showcase the evolution of eight New York City neighborhoods: Central Park, Park Avenue, Rockefeller Center, SOHO, Lincoln Center, the High Line, and finally Hudson Yards. Using a mixture of modern day and archival footage, these displays capture New York’s spirit of resilience and change and depict how Hudson Yards fits into the greater history of the city.

Further inside, in the Amazing Gathering gallery, three unique mosaic monitor arrays cycle through modules exploring the area’s parks, dining, art, Vessel landmark, and construction. Featuring original content from up-and-coming New York photographers and the voices of luminaries like Chef Thomas Keller and architect Thomas Heatherwick, Amazing Gathering surrounds visitors with dynamic content that showcases the many exciting aspects of daily life in Hudson Yards.

To capture the uniquely New York essence of Hudson Yards, the Mousetrappe Media team conducted several shoots onsite and across the city, working with a variety of local photographers and models. Each piece of media was designed to meld with the forward-thinking, community-based approach of the neighborhood, crafting an experience that both excites and educates visitors about this newest addition to the heart of Manhattan.
